You can be 100% right and make your side win a negotiation. But if your arguments humiliate in front of other people the person you are debating with, that negative feeling won't ever be forgotten by your counterpart. Due to the human nature, that relationship is likely  to be compromised.


An experienced negotiator should avoid any attack to the personal reputation of interlocutors and just focus on facts, dates, owners of actions. It's hard at times but the succesfull negotiator always promotes a win-win solution.
